I think you're correct - I vaguely remember an episode where Wile E Coyote uses a female dummy roadrunner with dynamite to tempt Roadrunner. We all know Chuck Jones wouldn't stoop so low as to make a cartoon character gay for no reason, with no joke preceding, following or during the homo-erotic turn. That would be retarded.
